The Prosecutor's Office is a unified, centralized system, headed by the chief prosecutor. It operates within the powers granted by the Constitution, the Law on the Prosecutor's Office. The prosecutor's office in cases stipulated by law initiate criminal prosecutions, oversee the investigation and inquiry, the prosecution in court, claim the protection of state interests in court, appeal the judgments, verdicts and decisions, oversee the sanctions and other coercive measures the application.
Armenia's Prosecutor's Office filed a special importance to the strengthening of international legal relations and strengthening cooperation with other countries in the fight against crime and prosecutorial agencies. The prosecution of a member of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS member states, 1999 is the International Association of Prosecutors and since 2005 a full member of the Conference of Prosecutors General of Europe. At the same time, actively participate in international conferences, seminars, trying to settle bilateral agreements and cooperation with neighboring countries and other prosecutorial
agencies in general.
The prosecutor's office cooperates with YSU Faculty of Law.
