Now guitar music is very popular among the Armenian youth. Taking into account this and YSU students’ wishes to learn playing on that instrument and develop their skills, in YSU Culture Centre with YSU rector’s support guitarists group was opened. That group gathered around a number of talented students. The group’s artistic director is musician Norayr Shahbazyan. Over time, the band was being filled by many other talented students, that were playing on other instruments. Now the artistic director of the band is Sargis Bazhbeuk-Melikyan: opera singer, musician, winner of many international contests. 

The classes of  the band are held on twice a week,  with 2 hours duration.
