Faculty of Economics and Management
The training of economists with higher education began at YSU in 1921 at the Faculty of Soviet Construction (later at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Social-Economic and Faculty of Economics).:

The education system of the Faculty of Economics and Management is comprised of three levels: Bachelor's, Master's, and Postgraduate degrees (incl. distance learning).


Undergraduate education is organized in three specialties: "Economics", "Finance" and "Management".


The Bachelor of “Economics” is gaining knowledge and skills in theory of economics, study of transition economy, history of economic thought, monetary, fiscal-customs policies, applying the mathematical and econometric modeling methods of studying microeconomic-macroeconomic processes, international economics, finance, marketing, management, business organization, state regulation of the economy etc.


The Bachelor of “Management” is gaining knowledge and skills in corporate management and public administration, business organization, strategic management, marketing, state regulation of the economy, study of various professional phenomena and processes, application of mathematical and econometric modeling methods, finance, international economics etc.


The Bachelor of “Finance” is gaining knowledge and skills in corporate and public finances, non-banking financial systems, monetary, fiscal-customs policies, banking, accounting, auditing, study of various professional phenomena and processes, mathematical modeling, economics etc.


The Master's program is organized in four specialties: "Economics", "Finance", "Management", "Accounting and Taxation" (nine courses are available for full-time and eight programs for distant learning Master's programs).


Cooperation with leading foreign universities is one of the most important preconditions for improving the quality of economic education, development, and improvement of the education process. Such international cooperation programs have been implemented in the faculty since 1993.


Within the framework of various programs of international cooperation, a significant part of the teaching staff has been trained abroad, the faculty has hosted guest professors from prestigious foreign universities, and many faculty members gave lectures in foreign universities. Numerous students of the faculty have studied in foreign universities thanks to the various exchange programs. At the same time, these exchange programs gave opportunities of studying at the faculty to a number of students from different foreign universities from all over the world.


One of the serious achievements of the international cooperation of the faculty is the agreement signed with the San Jose State University, USA (SJSU). According to it, each year since 2020 up to 5 students of the 2nd year of the "Data Science for Business" Master's program will be given an opportunity to continue their studies at the 2nd year of the "Data Analysis" program of SJSU, receiving both YSU and SJSU diplomas.


The students' life is filled․ Numerous events organized at the faculty can be conditionally divided into 4 parts: scientific-educational, cultural, sports and intellectual. Such programs also include educational visits to the sights of Armenia, as well as charity and patriotic events.


The Student Council and the Student Scientific Society are the patrons of the active students' life of the faculty.


Immediately after the graduation most of the students of the faculty find jobs in the key spheres of the RA economy and public administration system. Many graduates of the faculty successfully continue their studies in prestigious foreign universities.


Among the graduates of the faculty were the RA Vice President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers, deputies of the National Assembly, heads of large enterprises, banks, etc.
