The "Department of Diplomatic Service and Communication" of the faculty of international relations was established in May 2010. In this department students study both theoretical and practical issues of diplomatic and consular service.
In the study plan a very important place is given to the specifities of diplomatic and consular service, to the responsible mission and main duties of diplomat.
Such subjects as holding diplomatic talks, diplomatic treatment, diplomatic etiquette and protocol, area studies which are an inseparable part of diplomatic service are studied in the department.
Excellent knowledge of foreign languages (european and eastern) is greatly appreciated in the "Department of Diplomatic Service and Communication".
According to the 24th article of the Law of Diplomatic service of RA knowing at least 2 foreign languages is required. Because of this necessity the study of the first and second languages is implemented according to possessing diplomatic speech and culture and also diplomatic service skills.
Graduaters with high progress can take their master’s degree. After passing the exams the best graduaters have an opportunity to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international organizations and administration of international communications of different ministries.
