The regular session of the Academic Council was held today in the session hall of YSU Academic Council. There were 8 items on the agenda and a number of current issues.

On the request of the state migration service of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development, the Department of Postgraduate Additional Education of YSU provides the course of civil orientation trainings for Syrian Armenians settled in Armenia.

The Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Melkonyan presented the report on the faculty activity during the last year and spoke about new initiatives.

5th Congress of YSU Trade Union was held in Charents Hall.

On the initiative of the Department of Pre-university education of YSU the pupils of the 11th and 12th form of the high school N1 of Armavir were hosted at the Faculty of Physics of YSU.

The Department of Pre-university Education organized a visit to the secondary school of Tatul village of Aragatsotn marz and the house-museum of YSU fallen student, azatamartik Tatul Krpeyan.

The Faculty of Oriental Studies is marking its 50th anniversary and the First Armenian Congress on Oriental Studies is held on November 9-10.

On the initiative of the Department of Pre-university Education of YSU, a group of pupils of the 11th form of the high school N 142 after A. Gharibyan visited the Faculty of Chemistry.

On November 6, prior to the 50th anniversary of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies the representatives of the Faculty headed by Dean, Professor Ruben Melkonyan visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Today YSU Rector Aram Simonyan signed cooperation contracts with Yerevan high schools N 54 and 105, Abovyan school N1 after Kh, Abovyan, the high school N10 in Hrazdan and the foundation “Armenian-Chinese friendship school”.
