In 2013 the number of participants was extended and in addition to YSU faculties of History and Armenian Philology 4 other universities participated in it: Gyumri Pedagogical Institute, Gevorgyan Seminary,YerevanStateLinguisticUniversityandGorisStateUniversity.
“Participation in the conference is quite difficult, because you have to write, submit, argue, prove, and it is good that our students are ready for it. There was a period when SSS was not so active, but they started then to hold conferences, sessions, attended by a large number of students not only from YSU, but other universities and regions of Armenia,” - said Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Armenian Philology Artashes Sargsyan.
As in previous years, this time also there had not been proposed topics in advance. Students had selected the topics according to their preferences and the organizers divided the topics into 4 sections - the history and linguistics of Armenian language, contemporary Armenian language, literature and pedagogy.
“Every year YSU Student Scientific Society publishes the collection of works of the session, which includes many articles by students of our faculty. Participation in such events provides our students with a number of advantages. Now, at least two articles are required for the admission to postgraduate studies and this collections gives this opportunity,” - said lecturer at the Faculty of Armenian Philology Ashot Ter-Minasyan.
Head of Chair of Armenian Literature Doctor of Philology, Professor Samvel Muradyan is also sure that scientific conferences contribute to the personal development of students: “Tomorrow, you will be dealing with language and literature issues and you should start now.”
Student scientific session will last until November 15. All participants will receive certificates and the best materials will be published next year in the scientific journal of the SSS of the Faculty of Armenian Philology.
