The conference, held by the management and Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Sociology, was organized for the 5th time. It has already become a good tradition.
The conference participants were welcomed by Dean Arthur Mkrtichyan, who highlighted the activities of the SSS of the faculty and highly assessed the active participation of students in the research activities.
“We encourage our students to be engaged in the research activities right from their student years, to acquire new skills and abilities,” - said Arthur Mkrtichyan.
Lecturer at the Chair of Theory and History of Sociology, Director of the Institute for Political and Sociological Consulting Hovhannes Grigoryan emphasized the importance of organizing student conferences and added that the cooperation between IPSC and YSU Faculty of Sociology will be continuous in its nature.
“IPSC will continue to provide scholarships to students because it is very important to be involved in the research works. We pay great attention to the content of work, but also pay great attention to student initiatives and activities,” - said Hovhannes Grigoryan.
Before the reports were made, Hovhannes Grigoryan handed over the award to the last year winner Hasmik Ter-Grigoryan, who, by the way, is a student at YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies.
Hasmik Ter-Grigoryan made a report on “The issues of adaptation of Syrian Armenians inArmeniain 2013” and then other participants of the conference presented their researches.
By the way, each year IPSC provides monetary awards for the best three reports of the conference (3rd place - 20.000 AMD, 2nd place - 30.000 AMD, 1st place - 50.000 AMD). Tomorrow the commission will announce the winners, who will receive the monetary awards.
