YSU FACULTY OF SOCIOLOGY IS 15 YEARS OLD
Solemn session dedicated to the 15th anniversary of YSU Faculty of Sociology was held at YSU Big Hall today.

The 15th anniversary of the faculty was attended by Acting rector of Yerevan State University. Mr. Gegham Gevorgyan, Dean of the Faculty of Sociology of Yerevan State University, Professor Arthur Mkrtichyan, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alumni of the Faculty of Sociology Viktor Yengibaryan, President of the Association of Social Workers of Armenia Mira Antonyan, Faculty Lecturer, students and guests.

Before the opening ceremony, guests watched a video telling about the history and activities of the 15-year-old faculty.

The guests watched a video telling about the history and activities of the 15-year-old faculty, after which they were greeted and congratulated by Dean of the Faculty of Sociology of YSU Arthur Mkrtichyan.

He mentioned that YSU Faculty of Sociology is the youngest faculty of YSU, though it could also be one of YSU's oldest faculties, since in 1921 the Armenian government made a historic decision that there should be two faculties in YSU: Sociology and Natural.

“You can imagine it took decades to make that decision. We represent our history, but the students and alumni here will be the future of our faculty, ”said  Dean of the Faculty.

Acting Rector of Yerevan State University Mr. Gegham Gevorgyan also congratulated Sociologists on the 15th anniversary of the Faculty.

Mr. Gegham Gevorgyan called the Faculty of Sociology one of the most creative faculties of YSU.

It should be mentioned, that YSU Faculty of Sociology has been cooperating effectively with the state, public, over thirty foreign universities and organizations of RA for 15 years.

The faculty's 15 years of work have resulted in dozens of monographs, textbooks, and hundreds of scientific articles.
