THE NEW EDITION OF HOVHANNES SHIRAZ'S POEM "THE ARMENIAN DANTE-ESQUE" WAS PRESENTED AT YSU
The presentation-discussion of the book "The Armenian Dante-esque" by Hovhannes Shiraz took place in YSU Cultural Center today.

Samvel Muradyan, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Armenia, Professor of the Chair of Armenian Literature after YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology after YSU, Samvel Muradyan, Head of the Young Creators Group of the Cultural Center, wrote, prepared for publication, edited and annotated the edition of the book.

The event was attended by YSU Acting Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations Artur Israyelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Armenian Philology Artsrun Avagyan, Director of the Cultural Center Karine Davtyan, professor's wife, literary critics, professors and faculty members.

In his speech, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan stated that such events should be organized often, as they help students and anyone close to the book, that menas, their own roots.

 

"This discussion was really very useful for everyone. Such meetings should be held not only with literary critics and philologists, but with everyone, because in the age of smartphones, everyone needs spiritual nourishment and values. We are grateful to Mr. Muradyan for the huge amount of work he has done. Comparing six manuscripts and compiling a book is really hard work, but the most important thing is your memories. " he said.

Within the framework of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) International Science and Technology Initiative (MISTI) Global Teaching Labs (GTL) program Yerevan State University (YSU) hosted three students back in January this year for the first time. MIT students Yu Jing Chen, Anne Snyder, and Sean Zhang taught three different subjects and held hands-on workshops for YSU students.
