THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RA INDEPENDENCE IN FOCUS
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the RA independence. On September 21, 1991 the Armenian society voted for independence at the nationwide referendum.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the RA independence a commission, coordinating the activities and events, dedicated to this date, has been formed at YSU.

“We have created an independent state, which is in the stage of formation. It is much more difficult to preserve the independence. It should be noted that the formation of the civil society is everyone’s duty,” - said YSU Rector Aram Simonyan.

Over 60 events, scientific sessions, international, national and student conferences, university-wide conferences, lectures, meetings, seminars and exhibitions are envisaged in this framework.

YSU student organizations will organize different intellectual and sports competitions, as well as cultural events, visits, excursions, etc.

YSU Publishing House will publish a number of works on this topic: the illustrated monograph “YSU role in the process of establishment and development of the third Republic of Armenia”, “Participation of YSU representatives in Artsakh War”, as well as other works on this topic.

It is also planned to make a film about the students’ feelings about Armenia’s independence, as well as a documentary film on the role of YSU in the process of the establishment of the independence.
