THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL HAS MADE A DECISION TO MAKE CHANGES IN THE STRUCTURE OF YSU, WHICH WILL BE SUBMITTED TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR APPROVAL
A meeting of the Academic Council with 5 issues on the agenda and current issues took place today in the session hall of YSU Academic Council.

Before approving the proposed agenda of the session, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented to the members of the Academic Council the work done during this period and the upcoming activities.

The YSU Rector particularly informed that ten new "Clevertouch" interactive screens were acquired, which will contribute to the more efficient organization of the educational process, in addition, he stated that all the university buildings and adjacent areas were measured in order to use the area more profitably in the future.

 

Hovhannisyan presented the planned renovation programs, the works aimed at the school to be opened on the basis of the university.

After approving the proposed agenda of the session, Poghos Vardevanyan, Chairman of the Competition Committee of the YSU Academic Council, submitted a request for the award of the academic title of Professor to the Academic Council, stating that the committee had received and examined the submitted documents, and noted that they met the required criteria.

 

At the end of the sitting, Hayk Sargsyan, a member of the counting commission formed, announced the results of the secret ballot, according to which 66 members took part in the voting and guaranteed the claim for awarding a scientific degree.

STATEMENT OF YEREVAN STATE UNIVERSITY  ADDRESSED TO INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS REGARDING THE SITUATION CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE BLOCKADE IMPOSED ON THE LACHIN CORRIDOR
Since the morning of December 12th, a group of Azerbaijani civilians disguised as environmentalists have imposed a blockade on the Goris-Stepanakert highway (the Lachin Corridor) which is currently the only route linking Nagorno-Karabakh to the outside world. On top of that, during bitterly cold winter Azerbaijan had shut off natural gas supplies leaving the civilians in the territory without heating for 75 hours.

A meeting with Armenian composer, People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Mansuryan took place at YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center, during which university rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented the maestro with YSU gold medal.
