2.602 APPLICANTS ENTERED YSU IN 2017-2018 ACADEMIC YEAR
This year 20,575 places were available in the full-time education system, of which 18,405 were for joint exams, and 2,165 for internal exams.

The admission at YSU was a regular one. Over 30% of total entrants have been admitted to YSU within the framework of joint examinations.

For comparison, no state university has overcome the threshold of even 1,000 students. 851 students entered the Armenian National Polytechnic University and 837 - the Armenian National University of Economics.

Additionally, 31 entrants have been admitted to non-state universities (3,200 places available).

“It is possible to say that all the regularities are preserved, and nothing extraordinary has happened. Year by year the number of graduates decreases, and from this point of view the 2018 admission will be much more serious, as schools will have 10,000 graduates, so the number of applicants will not exceed 5,000. It means that the number of graduates and, naturally, the number of entrants will decrease two times,” - said Vice-rector Alexander Grigoryan.

He added that in any case there is no reason to worry as all problems are of a temporary nature.
