YSU Rector Aram Simonyan received Head of the Caucasus and Central Asia Division of the Institute for Political and International Studies of the IRI Foreign Ministry Ali Reza Bigdeli.
YSU Vice-rector on Scientific Policy and International Cooperation Gegham Gevorgyan, Head of International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Melkonyan and Head of the Chair of Iranian Studies Vardan Voskanyan also attended the meeting.
The purpose of the visit of the Iranian delegation was the establishment of the mutually beneficial cooperation with YSU.
“Iranian Studies is one of the most developed branches at YSU, which also contributes to our practical, close and productive relationship with Iranian colleagues. We are sure that the multifaceted ties with the friendly state of Armenia contribute to the development and prosperity of the two states,” - said Aram Simonyan.
YSU Rector also presented the history of the university, educational activities, international relations and other details.
Ali Reza Bigdeli expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and presented the activities of the research institute, the main directions of development, as well as detailed the purpose of the visit to YSU.
“We are glad to have the opportunity to visit YSU, the largest educational and research center in Armenia. The theme of Iran-Armenia political, economic and educational cooperation is well studied at our institute, so I am sure that there is a good platform for cooperation between the two institutions,” - said the guest.
Vardan Voskanyan spoke about the activities at YSU Chair of Iranian Studies, after which the guest visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
