NEW PERSPECTIVES OF ARMENIAN-FRENCH COOPERATION: AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF THE REPUBLIC OF FRANCE TO ARMENIA VISITS YSU
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Ms. Anne Louyot and discussed with her the steps aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, as well as the possibilities of expansion.

The Rector presented the activities of YSU, the reform programs, mentioned that YSU actively cooperates with the leading French universities in different directions, implementing exchange and other academic programs.

 

The ambassador also considered important the ties between the universities of the two countries, assured that they are ready to support their strengthening and expansion.
 

She mentioned that learning French is one of the priorities of their interests and they can be useful in that issue as well.

STATEMENT OF YEREVAN STATE UNIVERSITY  ADDRESSED TO INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS REGARDING THE SITUATION CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE BLOCKADE IMPOSED ON THE LACHIN CORRIDOR
Since the morning of December 12th, a group of Azerbaijani civilians disguised as environmentalists have imposed a blockade on the Goris-Stepanakert highway (the Lachin Corridor) which is currently the only route linking Nagorno-Karabakh to the outside world. On top of that, during bitterly cold winter Azerbaijan had shut off natural gas supplies leaving the civilians in the territory without heating for 75 hours.

A meeting with Armenian composer, People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Mansuryan took place at YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center, during which university rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented the maestro with YSU gold medal.
