YSU STUDENTS HAVE WON IN PROGRAMMING COMPETITION
On October 1 “Kaspersky Lab” Company concluded the results of the student programming contest “Kaspersky Student’s Challenge” at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University.

Programming competition was attended by YSU students, three of them took the first places - Karen Hambardzumyan (Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, 4th year) - the first place, Narek Hovsepyan (Information Technology Education and Research Centre, master, 1st year) - the second place, Tigran Galstyan (Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, 3rd year) - the third place.

 

300 students had applied to participate in the first stage of the competition, 30 of them progressed into the final. The best were selected to take part in the finals. The organizers noted that IT sector is one of the most demanded in Armenia, as it is warring country.

 

Representative of “Kaspersky Lab” company in Georgia and Armenia Armen Karapetyan noted that war and crimes have entered a new stage: “We will witness the growth of the cyber war. To be protected is to be informed. It is important for students to participate in such competitions.”

From 15 to 19 July 2022, a conference on "The Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held at the Yerevan State University and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Vayots Dzor/Armenia. More than 30 international scholars and experts discussed the origin, historical development and current threats to cultural heritage in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).
