On March 11-14 YSU delegation was on official visit at the Belgorod State National Research University. It was headed by Rector Aram Simonyan, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics Vahram Dumanyan, Head of Chair of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Ashot Saghyan and Head of Chair of Theoretical Physics after G. Sahakyan Professor Gagik Kryuchkyan.
During the study visit each of YSU representatives visited the subdivision, which was in the area of his professional interest.
In the framework of the visit YSU and BSNRU signed an agreement. Different units will then sign separate agreements on cooperation. Here we should mention about the envisaged cooperation in the fields of biotechnology nanotechnology and studies of substances. Agreements on cooperation have been reached in the fields of Russian language training, information technology, archeology, etc.
“An agreement was reached on the exchange of lecturers, students and PhD students. I put a stress on the implementation of joint research projects. Here we should jointly apply for grants, as well as introduce the research results in nano- and biotechnology industries,” - says Aram Simonyan.
First Vice-rector of BSNRU Tatiana Balabanova, speaking about future cooperation, said that the program “Nano Substances” is in the process of accreditation now, and later our HEI can cooperate in this field, too.
Wee should note that this was the first attempt of cooperation between the two universities on the official level.
The large quantity of modern equipment especially in biotechnology and medical industries attracted the attention of our delegation. The student life was also quite remarkable.
BSNRU is one of 30 universities of the Russian Federation, which has united the region’s universities. It has nearly 28,000 students, including 1,000 foreigners from 76 countries. 6 research institutes and 8 faculties operate in its structure.
