Photos by Swiss Professor at the University of Bern Jan Zilinsky tell us about the lives of people living in refugee camps and shelters in the South Caucasus.
He has visited Armenia and in particular YSU on the occasion of the coming Social Worker Day on March 21. On the very day YSU will host the international conference “Social work as a pillar of social reforms in Armenia: challenges and solutions”.
The event was attended by YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan, Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Arthur Mkrtichyan, President of the Association of Social Workers “Harmonious Society”, YSU lecturer Mira Antonyan, the ambassadors of Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic in Armenia, as well as the representatives of the Polish Embassy, university lecturers and students.
The guests were welcomed by Arthur Mkrtichyan and Mira Antonyan, who thanked the Swiss professor, who for many years has been cooperating with their side within the framework of various programs and conferences in the social sphere.
Jan Zilinsky noted that similar exhibitions have been organized in Georgia and Azerbaijan, too.
“I am glad that the university has shown me such a warm reception. I am grateful for the opportunity to present the Armenian audience everything I saw and experienced in the temporary shelters for refugees,” - the professor said.
The exhibition was organized by the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies of YSU Faculty of Sociology and the Association of Social Workers “Harmonious Society”.
