Today, the solemn closing ceremony of the 4th SSS International Conference, which started on October 2, took place at YSU.

YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Vahram Mkrtchyan, YSU Vice-rectors, Deans of faculties, Deputy Deans, Heads of different departments, lecturers and students were present at the event.

The third year student of the Faculty of Journalism Karine Simonyan and second year student of the Faculty of International Relations Garnik Arakelyan welcomed the audience: "2017 is a jubilee year for the SSS as it marks the 70th anniversary of its foundation. Over the years of its existence, the SSS has contributed to the scientific, creative and spiritual development of students, has organized periodic conferences and workshops, seminars and lectures, published scientific articles of young scientists and students."

Vice-Rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan, who was the Chairman of the SSS in 1998-2001, welcomed those present on behalf of YSU Administration: "SSS, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, implements a number of events, among which the SSS annual conference is, which brings together the largest number of young researchers in Armenia, and this year it has wide international coverage."

Expressing gratitude to the scientific supervisors, Mr. Markosyan highlighted the publication of numerous collections of scientific articles of the SSS and presented the other works carried out by the SSS.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science Vahram Mkrtchyan welcomed everyone, highly appreciated the activities of the SSS and noted that it is very encouraging to organize such a conference: "The Ministry of Education and Science is developing a new draft of law with an important role in the science-university-economy relations."

SSS Chairman Mher Hakobyan, summing up the work of the SSS 4th international conference, first of all thanked all the people and structures who contributed to this important mission: "The preparatory work of the conference began a year ago and we had more than 500 applications from four parts of the world, which was an unprecedented thing for us. The previous 5 days were very important for the history of the organization. About 170 speeches were made in 17 professional sections, scientific debates were held that made this conference a great platform for dialogue, where young people offered innovative ideas and demonstrated great scientific potential. Our conference has also become a significant event for those who came from 14 countries, whose active participation and interesting reports have made the conference more productive."

Mher Hakobyan expressed hope that the conference will positively impact on the participants' scientific activities and the relations formed during the conference will make Armenia a meeting place for further scientific events.

Former YSU SSS chairmen handed encouraging prizes (professional books and diplomas) to the participants for the best reports in different sections.

During the event, YSU Cultural Center members made beautiful and unique performances.
