COOPERATION WITH CHINA EXPANDS
Today YSU Rector Aram Simonyan received the delegation of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

YSU Rector presented the history of YSU, the educational process and international cooperation, pointing out the areas of effective cooperation and development trends with the Eastern countries and particularly Chinese educational institutions.

YSU Vice-rector on Educational Affairs Alexander Grigoryan, Vice-rector on Scientific Policy and International Cooperation Gegham Gevorgyan and Head of International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov also attended the meeting.

"It should be noted that YSU actively cooperates with a number of Chinese universities, but we are ready to expand that cooperation and get new partners," - said Aram Simonyan.

Deputy Director of the Institute for Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Son Lee thanked for the reception and provision with the information and underlined that Yerevan State University is famous for its scientific potential not only in the region, but also in China.

"Although our academy is a much younger institution than YSU with a century-old history, it has a great potential and it has dozens of institutes," - said the guest and added that they are ready to discuss with YSU all the directions of cooperation.

The Secretary General of the "One Zone and One Way" Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Van Syaotsyun handed YSU Rector a copy of the memorandum of cooperation between the educational institutions and the official letter of the president of the academy.

Aram Simonyan promised to read it and respond to his Chinese colleagues as soon as possible.
