Professor of the Chair of Organic Chemistry at YSU Faculty of Chemistry Gagik Melikyan delivered a lecture for his French colleagues on “Obtaining Multifunctional Representatives of Lacked Lactones and Lactams and Biological Investigation”, around which experts have been actively discussing to expand cooperation.
Cooperation with YSU Faculty of Chemistry and Paris Descartes University, leading university in the field of medical science, has more than two years of history. Specialists at the University of Descartes have agreed to take the latest materials from YSU Faculty of Chemistry for biological testing and identify their application areas.
“A number of organic materials received at the Chair of Organic Chemistry are of great interest to our French colleagues. The issue of presenting them to the academic community is currently under discussion, either in the form of articles or through licensing,” - said the professor and added that as a result of the cooperation, an agreement was reached to cooperate in the synthesis of new materials, improving their properties.
Gagik Melikyan was invited to the University of Descartes for participating in a scientific workshop for chemists and biologists to introduce new chemicals.
Professor Pierre Olivier Vidalán, representing the University of Descartes, expressed his high opinion on the topic presented by YSU and urged his colleagues to cooperate with the Chair of Organic Chemistry at YSU Faculty of Chemistry.
Let us add that Chair of Organic Chemistry of YSU Faculty of Chemistry also actively cooperates with Pierre and Marie Curler University (Paris 6).
“We have published several articles in the international scientific magazines with Pier and Marie Curie University specialists. Let me also note that Lyon Pasteur Institute has also offered us a cooperation. A cooperation program will be elaborated in the near future and all the possible terms of cooperation will be marked,” - concluded Gagik Melikyan.
