Today, YSU administration received the Deputy Director of the Higher School of Economics of St. Petersburg National Research University Valery Gordin, Associate Professor at the Department of Oriental Studies and African Studies Alexei Obraztsov and Head of the Department of Economics Sergey Slobodyan.
The meeting was attended by YSU Vice-rector on International Cooperation and Scientific Policy Gegham Gevorgyan, Vice-rector on Educational Affairs Alexander Grigoryan, Head of the International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology Marat Grigoryan, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Gegham Petrosyan, as well as representatives of the faculties of Oriental Studies and Economics.
Aram Simonyan welcomed the guests and said that YSU is interested in cooperation with Russian higher education institutions and is ready to implement new programs in education and science.
“Our university has a long experience of cooperation with Russian universities and research institutes, and in future we are interested in expanding the cooperation,” - said YSU Rector and added that our HEI may also be a link for further cooperation between Russian and Iranian universities.
Mr. Gordin expressed gratitude for the reception and noted that the goal of their visit is to establish cooperation in the fields of exchange programs for students and lecturers, as well as organization of summer schools and seminars particularly in the areas of economics, management, tourism and oriental studies, also making focus on the programs, which will provide the graduates with dual diplomas.
After the meeting, the guests delivered lectures at the faculties of Geography and Geology, Economics and Management, as well as Oriental Studies.
Delegation of the St. Petersburg National Research University will also visit the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University.
