The meeting at YSU Rector’s Office was also attended by Vice-rectors Ruben Markosyan and Alexander Grigoryan, Head of the International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Hayk Sargsyan, Head of Information Technology Education and Research Centre Samvel Shukuryan and Head of Chair of Public Administration of YSU Faculty of International Relations Vahagn Aglyan.
During the meeting the Acting Rector of Yerevan State University Aram Simonyan presented the structure, operations, major research directions and priorities for international cooperation. He also spoke about the national, international, as well as student activities and initiatives in the framework of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
Sergei Kadochnikov, who is for the first time in Armenia, presented his university: ““Higher School of Economics” formerly was mainly specialized in the humanities and social areas, but recently major progress in the exact sciences and engineering has been registered.”
Mr. Kadochnikov says the most important direction at their university is the scientific-research one: 25% of the total budget is allocated for the researches. This university, which has around 3,000 students, in addition to educational and research activities, is also an important platform for the cooperation with public. There are organized numerous conferences, forums, etc.
Heads of the universities also discussed ways of further cooperation, including interdisciplinary researches and education programs.
