FRANCOPHONIE DAYS AT YSU
Within the framework of the Francophonie Days in Armenia the film “Dark Valley” was shown at YSU Cultural Centre today.

The event was organized by the Cultural Centre and the National Cinema Center of Armenia. Director of the Centre Karine Davtyan and the representative of the National Cinema Center Nune Galstyan mentioned that this movie is coproduced by Austria and Germany.

“The film is directed by Andreas Prohaska. It was shot on the novel of the same name by Thomas Vilman and enthusiastically accepted by the audience,” - said Nune Galstyan.

The film won numerous awards. It was selected as the Austrian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards, but was not nominated.

The film opens with a scene of a scared young man and woman hiding in the basement of a wooden building. Footsteps are heard from above, and then several men find them, severely assaulting the man and then dragging them both away as the woman screams…

The screening was followed by an active discussion.
