This was one of the meetings, which are held each semester. At this time, on the eve of the midterm examinations, Mr. Petrosyan held a meeting with about 145 first-year students. And during these regular meetings the lecturers are not present, so the meetings pass in a more relaxed atmosphere.
“Our curriculum is revised year on year. We introduce programs that meet the standards of the foreign advanced universities. Our lecturers make study visits to foreign universities for the experience exchange,” - said Mr. Petrosyan.
After a short introduction Mr. Petrosyan answered to the numerous questions of students related to the current examination procedures, the available Armenian language literature at the faculty, manuals, etc.
“I think there is a serious lack of professional literature, - says Mr. Petrosyan, adding that students can also use other libraries inYerevan(RA National Library, NAS RA Library, etc.), where there are good literature funds, - the textbooks are not enough, these are only guides.”
Students were also concerned about the fact that a significant part of the professional literature is in foreign language, and in response, Mr. Petrosyan said that students studying at the Faculty of International Relations have to be proficient in foreign languages.
“A special attention is paid to the teaching of foreign languages at our faculty. Here we hold various meetings with foreign high-ranking guests, and very often our students ask them questions in their native languages,” - says Mr. Petrosyan, adding proudly that the majority of the students of the RA MFA Diplomatic School are the alumni of this faculty, and he is sure that these students will then become ambassadors.
