YSU Rector Aram Simonyan hosted the Deputy Director of the RF Higher School of Economics of St. Petersburg Branch of National Research University, Associate Professor Natalia Chicherina, Head of the International Cooperation Department Konstantin Platonov, Dean of the Department of Economy Sergey Slobodyan, Head of Foreign Languages Department Irina Shemelyova.
The meeting was also attended by YSU vice-rectors Alexander Grigoryan and Gegham Gevorgyan and Head of the International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov.
Aram Simonyan welcomed the guests and briefly introduced the history of YSU, the development stages, spoke about educational and international cooperation processes.
The main purpose of the meeting was the signing of the agreement, which will allow carrying out master’s programs with dual diploma.
“We attach great importance to the cooperation with Russian universities and the implementation of joint educational programs,” - said the Rector and expressed confidence that the project will succeed and will register the desired results.
Natalia Chicherina said that the management of their institution makes a very thorough selection of partners for future cooperation.
“Our institution is implementing a dual diploma educational program only in cooperation with the London University College, and today I am happy that such a program will also be implemented with the regional leading university - Yerevan State University,” - said Natalia Chicherina.
Then the discussion was also joined by the Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology Pavel Balayan, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics Arthur Sahakyan and professors of the faculty.
They discussed the training and qualifications of the professorial staff of the Russian Philology Faculty, as well as a number of issues concerning the implementation of joint projects in the field of actuarial mathematics.
The Russian delegation will also meet with students and management of the Faculty of Economics and Management.
