TIES BETWEEN YSU AND UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS STRENGTHEN
YSU signed a new agreement on cooperation with the University of Cyprus.

Today, YSU Rector Aram Simonyan received the Rector of the University of Cyprus Konstantinos Christofides.

Vice-rector on Educational Affairs Alexander Grigoryan, Vice-rector on Scientific Policy and International Cooperation Gegham Gevorgyan and Head of the International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov were also present at this meeting.

As Aram Simonyan noted, previously signed agreement between YSU and the University of Cyprus had to be updated: “We are really committed to the implementation of new programs and new ways of cooperation and we are sure in the establishing closer relations between the two universities.”

Konstantinos Christofides noted about good relations between our nations. Rector of the University of Cyprus also presented their activities, new projects and future plans.

Alexander Markarov added that the feature of this new agreement is that the areas of cooperation are now clearly outlined: “The scope of cooperation in the previous agreement was very general, which affects the efficiency of the process.”

Alexander Markarov presented the European programs available at YSU and expressed hope that the cooperation can be developed in the framework of these programs, too.

The sitting of the Board of Trustees of the Yerevan State University Foundation took place today in the conference hall of YSU Academic Council with 5 issues on the agenda, during which the chairman and the Secretary were elected.

According to RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's decision No. 1222-A of October 28, 2021, the members of YSU Board of Trustees consisting of 20 members was approved.
