SPECIALISTS IN ARABIC STUDIES HAVE ESTABLISHED PRACTICAL TIES IN UAE
In the framework of the visit to UAE, YSU delegation visited the university of Sharjah.

On March 6, YSU students met with the members of the Student Council of the above mentioned university. In the course of the meeting Armenian students were introduced to some programs of Sharjah University, presented details on Armenia and Yerevan and shared their impressions of UAE, focused on the Arabic dialects and peculiarities of Armenian language.


On following day, March 7, the delegation of Yerevan State University was hosted at the faculties of Philology, Humanities and Sociology at Sharjah University. YSU delegation was received by the Dean Dr. Hussein al-Osman and Deputy Dean Khalil al-Maidan, during which the Head of the Chair of Arabic Studies of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies Hayk Kocharyan and Dr. Hussein Al-Osman discussed the possibilities for development of cooperation, prospects of student and faculty exchange programs.


Then Armenian students attended a lecture organized at the Arabian Literature section dedicated to the poetry of Abu al-Thayib al-Mutanabbi.


On March 7, a group of our students visited Abu Dhabi. Here they were received by the Minister of Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan Ben Mubarak Al-Nahyan. The meeting took place at his residence, where high-ranking officials were present.


The students told the minister about their bright impressions they had received at the conference. They spoke of his influential speech, as well as the atmosphere of security, ethno-cultural and religious diversity in the country.


Minister Al-Nahyan, in his turn, highly appreciated the students' knowledge of Arabic and their knowledge of Arab culture and the history of the Arab people.


At the end of the meeting YSU delegation visited the renowned mosque of Bin Zaid, whose uniqueness is not only owing to its size and magnificence, but also delicate miniature paintings typical to Arabic and Islamic culture.
