The conference, held at YSU faculty of Philosophy and Psychology on the 5th of December, was headed The benefaction of Abraham Maslow in the development of psychological science and was dedicated to his 100th anniversary of birth.
It was initiated by the Chair of Applied Psychology of this faculty. This meeting was also in the framework of celebrities YSU 90.
We had to focus on Mr. Maslows scientific heritage, as his role in the process of development of this branch of science is really great. He is known worldwide for his complex researches in the area of psychology, estimation of human demands and finally he has founded the theory of humanistic approaches in psychology, - said Head of Chair of Applied Psychology Gayane Shahverdyan.
Masters and lecturers of this chair had prepared 13 reports on this occasion, which covered the following areas: Higher feelings and art-therapy, Social-political views of Abraham Maslow, The understanding of psychological health in A. Maslows concept, Transcendence and self-realization, The principle of to be as a condition for self-realization, etc.
The reports were really well prepared and made wholly clear the scientific heritage of Abraham Maslow.
The studentship organized a discussion on various topics within the area of their interest with the professorial staff.
