The goal of the meeting, organized by YSU Military Readiness Club after L. Azgaldyan was to enable the students to learn more about the military field and in particular April Four-Day War. Arshak Zakaryan has directly participated in the events and prepared special reports on the military actions. He also spoke about his new film “April”, which is about the military operations, losses and heroic actions.
Speaking about the battles in front Arshak Zakaryan emphasized that the situation was extremely tense and crowned with success only owing to the efforts and professionalism of our soldiers. The film director also spoke about the information, disseminated in the days of the April War on TV and internet, which mainly did not correspond to reality.
“Our creative team’s goal was to make available reliable and accurate information. Any military report contains strategic importance. You should take into account what impact it can have on the society. I strongly believe that the information war can solve many serious cases,” - said Arshak Zakaryan.
He also stressed on the importance of such meetings. Mr. Zakaryan, describing in details the episodes of the April War, said that we solve a very important issue, making the true history of the events. In this context, he ruled out the distorted presentation of information, which in those days was disseminated by the enemy.
Arshak Zakaryan also answered students’ questions. These mainly related to the loss of positions, the number of victims, the transfer of prisoners, lack of equipment, aid for Artsakh, etc.
Chairman of the above mentioned Club Mher Otaryan said that the meeting was organized taking into account the range of interests and issues of students: “April Four-day War has its dark pages. Our goal was to get answers from the documentarist participating in combat operations. I think it was an interesting meeting.”
