"LOVE OUR COUNTRY, BE RESPONSIBLE AND INITIATIVE." YSU GREETS THE FIRST- YEAR STUDENTS
The oath ceremony of YSU first year studnets took place in the yard of central building.

This year the ceremony  was  dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia.

RA ESCS Minister Vahram Dumanyan , Deputy Minister Karen Trchunyan, YSU Acting Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, vice-rectors, deans of faculties, representatives of various departments, faculties, student organizations, university students of all times took part in the event.

YSU acting Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, congratulating the  first-year students on becoming university students, stated that it is quite difficult to carry that high title and honor of being YSU student.

He mentioned that for a long time they hesitated whether to organize this event or not, but in the end they decided to organize it to show that Armenians have lived and will live.

 

"The university must show that we can overcome all difficulties with education". he said.

RA ESCS Minister Vahram Dumanyan said, that the most powerful national security is education, which develops the right mindset and we make the right decisions.

Vahram Dumanyan said that the first-year studnets should study well, they should form, continue and develop our security concept.

 

During the event, the YSU Cultural Center Choir, the girls' dance ensemble, the "YSU band" and the students of the "University" theater-studio performed their musical, dance and theatrical performances.

THE THREAT OF DESTRUCTION OF ARMENIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH
From 15 to 19 July 2022, a conference on "The Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held at the Yerevan State University and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Vayots Dzor/Armenia. More than 30 international scholars and experts discussed the origin, historical development and current threats to cultural heritage in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). These are part of the Armenian culture and, thus, amongst the oldest heritage of Christianity.

YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia Nicho Schermers.
