A long and fruitful collaboration between the University of Montpellier and YSU exists. A number of research projects, student exchange programs, joint training programs and other educational and research activities have been called to life in the framework of this cooperation.
In May of this year a new intercollegiate agreement was signed in the framework of the official visit of the delegation of the University of Montpellier 1 to YSU, which allows conducting research and education programs between the faculties of law of these universities. The visit of Gagik Ghazinyan to France at the invitation of the partner university was to adjust the future programs of cooperation.
Faculty of Law of the Montpellier 1 University is one of the oldest law schools in France, which was founded in XII century. Today more than 7,000 students of the Faculty of Law specialize in different branches of law and get quality knowledge.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the cooperation development prospects, plans and their implementation mechanisms. Mr. Ghazinyan met with the Vice-rector of the University of Montpellier 1 Jean-Paul Fernandez, Dean of Faculty of Law Marie-Elisabeth Andre, honorary Doctor of this faculty Bernard Duran, professorial staff, was introduced to the structure and activities of individual divisions of the faculty.
The parties have agreed to cooperate in the implementation of joint scientific researches, as well as student and staff exchange programs.
The French delegation will be received in Yerevan on December 3-7 to sign the agreement on the interdepartmental cooperation.
Mr. Ghazinyan also visited the University of Montpellier3, where the Vice-rector on International Cooperation Anne-Marie Motardi, who has expressed a willingness to discuss the possibility of including YSU Faculty of Law in their inter-university research program “International migration”, received him.
