A NEW EDUCATION CENTRE WILL BE OPENED AT YSU
IBM Innovative Solutions and Technology Centre will be opened at YSU.

The construction of the centre started in February of current year and will be completed in June-July.

The founders of the centre are the RA Government, “Enterprises Incubator” Foundation, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, USAID, IBM, as well as Yerevan State University.

Construction of the centre is carried out by “Baghramyanshin” OJSC, and the project coordination (competition, training and development, etc.) is implemented by “Enterprise Incubator” Foundation.

The centre will operate in a number of areas: development of IT education and research activities, update of the curriculum of the higher educational institutions, cooperation between the local and American universities, etc.

ISTC implements startup acceleration, i.e. supports staff in order to create viable teams. It provides consulting and financial support, access to the sources of development, as well as provides software solutions for SMEs promoting local technology in the global markets and creates the relevant environment for the for processing and testing of the technological solutions.

Resources of the ISTC (in particular courses of Academic Initiative, virtual libraries, software and computer technology center, IBM support Center for staff and experts, etc.) will be open to YSU students as well as students and professors of other universities, including the private sector.

An elevator will also be installed during the construction. The elevator is especially important in the context of ensuring the free movement of persons with mobility impairments.

YSU management ensures that all the rules are preserved during the construction works; daily technical supervision and monitoring of specialized design organizations are carried out. The supervision by the university and other founders of the center is also provided.

Yerevan City Hall has given the appropriate license to start the construction. The statements and conclusions of seismic and other responsible institutions are available, too.
