“Interfax” Information Services Group published the rankings of higher education institutions of the post-Soviet countries in 2013 (CIS, Baltic states and Georgia).
The ranking methodology is in compiling with the world’s leading ranking developer’s approaches - British agency “QS” (Quacquarelli Symonds). Its structure consists of three components: the university’s educational, research and international activities. 405 most popular and recognized higher education institutions in the post-Soviet space were monitored.
Moscow State University tops the rankings, 2nd place - Belarusian State University, 3rd - St. Petersburg State University. Kiev University was ranked 4th in the list and Vilnius University – 5th.
As for South Caucasus region, YSU was ranked 11th, Tbilisi State University - 51st and Baku State University is the 61st.
