The conference, organized by the administration of YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology and All-Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, is dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
Details of the conference were presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Armenian Philology Artsrun Avagyan, who highlighted the event and wished the participants fruitful working days.
The opening speech was made by YSU Acting Rector Aram Simonyan: “It is regrettable that other universities and other educational institutions did not respond to the offer to participate in this event, but I have to thank the administration of the Faculty of Armenian Genocide for the organization of the events in the framework of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide on the proper level.”
Aram Simonyan said that the events in this framework will be continued.
Participants were also welcomed by the Chairman of the All-Armenian Educational and Cultural Society Lilit Galstyan.
“I should note that the best experts in Armenian literature will present the analyses of the literature, which once again proves that the conference is a successful one,” - said Lilit Galstyan.
Reports were presented by Artsrun Avagyan, professors Vazgen Gabrielyan, Zhenya Kalantaryan and Samvel Muradyan, and many others.
A focus was made on the poetry, the eminent writers of that time, as well as the most remarkable episodes of the Armenian Genocide in the Armenian and Russian literature.
After the speeches, an active discussion started between the participants.
