At the initiative of YSU Pre-University Education Department pupils of a number of schools of our capital and Ararat visited YSU today.
Dean of YSU Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics Arthur Sahakyan, lecturers, graduates and students were present at the meeting.
Narek Martirosyan, Head of the Chair of Actuarial Mathematics and Risk Management, mentioned there are many specializations in mathematics, and at the same time there are a number of reasons why this profession is more preferable.
“I will highlight two key factors. The first one is the existence of a mathematical school at the faculty that forms the knowledge base. Then an economic school is added to it, which is the basis for risk managers or analysts to work and build career,” - said Narek Martirosyan.
Suzy Hovakimyan, a pupil from Ararat Province, was for the first time at YSU. She noted that during the meeting she decided to choose mathematics as a second profession.
