NEW COMPETITION FOR YSU LECTURERS. AFTER AWARDING THE WINNERS WILL PRESENT THEIR LECTURES AT YSU
It is envisaged to organize and hold an annual contest at YSU entitled "Award for Excellence in Teaching at YSU". The purpose of the contest, as well as the procedure of its organization and conduct, was discussed with YSU Vice-rector on Natural and Exact Professions Rafael Barkhudaryan.

- Mr. Barkhudaryan, what is the purpose of the competition, and who can participate in it?

The goal of the competition is to promote the improvement of teaching methods at YSU, to promote the application of modern methods, as well as to disseminate best practices.

According to the project, the competition is open to YSU teachers who teach at least 2 courses at YSU during the given academic year.

-How will the candidates be nominated?

- Candidates will be nominated through relevant bids in paper or electronic form (online).

 Applicants will also be provided with relevant documents, as well as additional materials, which may include a letter of support from the Dean or Chair, examples of student work presented during the course, student support letters for the last 2 years, etc.

- What prize will be set for the winners of the competition?

- The winners of the competition will be awarded a certificate and awards of 300,000 AMD, including taxes provided by the RA legislation. In addition, the winners will have the opportunity to record one educational module, each of which will be awarded AMD 1,000,000, including taxes provided by the RA legislation.

Since the morning of December 12th, a group of Azerbaijani civilians disguised as environmentalists have imposed a blockade on the Goris-Stepanakert highway (the Lachin Corridor) which is currently the only route linking Nagorno-Karabakh to the outside world. On top of that, during bitterly cold winter Azerbaijan had shut off natural gas supplies leaving the civilians in the territory without heating for 75 hours.
