NEW SONGS DEDICATED TO THE UNIVERSITY
Today, YSU Rector Aram Simonyan awarded the winners of the Competition among Youth Song, who had to compose songs dedicated to YSU. The winners received prizes.

As we have already informed, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of Yerevan State University YSU Cultural Center together with the Union of Composers of Armenia organized a song contest dedicated to the University. At the final stage there were six songs, the best of which were selected by the professional jury.

Let us remind that Gayane Tadevosyan took the third place at the Youth Song Contest, Anna Zakaryan was the second, and Edmond Makaryan was the first.


YSU Rector handed diplomas and cash prizes to the winners of the competition. Aregnaz Martirosyan and Tigran Grigoryan were also awarded with encouraging prizes.


YSU Rector expressed gratitude to the Competition Commission and participants, noting that the University will continue to create all conditions for students to be able to compose. Aram Simonyan specifically thanked the Director of YSU Cultural Center Karine Davtyan for consistent work of many years and to instill love and interest towards culture among students.


Chairman of the Union of Armenian Composers Aram Satyan expressed his satisfaction with YSU administration, which contributed to the self-expression of young people. Director of Yerevan State College of Pop and Jazz Arts, composer Stepan Babatorosyan expressed hope that such events will be continuous and give the participants the greatest pleasure and creativity.


Edmon Makaryan, who won the first place, thanked the organizers for the contest and said that though he is not a university student, considers YSU as a national value - an important educational, scientific and cultural center.

LITERATURE, ACTING MASTERY, AND ORATORY ASSEMBLED IN THE CHARLES AZNAVOUR CULTURE CENTER OF YSU
A literary composition based on the works of the modern poet, and literary critic, YSU professor Henrik Edoyan was presented at YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center.
"THE UNIVERSITY IS A HUMANITARIAN CENTER FOR ARMENIAN STUDIES THAT DELIVERS MEANING AND EARTHLY ESSENCE TO THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF SCIENCE", TIGRAN MANSURYAN.
A meeting with Armenian composer, People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Mansuryan took place at YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center, during which university rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented the maestro with YSU gold medal.
