Head of YSU International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov and Head of the Chair of Romance Philology of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology Hasmik Baghdasaryan also attended the meeting.
In the beginning of the meeting YSU Rector Aram Simonyan focused on the history, structure and current activities of YSU: “Our University is a classic university. There are 19 faculties here. These are the faculties that are typical for the classical university, except for the former medical faculty, as it has been transformed to a separate university many years ago. But instead, we have Pharmacy Institute, which has at its disposal all modern equipment.”
Aram Simonyan also spoke about the centers functioning at the university, the research works carried out, the geography of foreign students and international partners: “Most of our partners are from the Russian Federation. We have many partners from Europe, the Middle East and different countries around the world.”
Norma Bertha Pensado Moreno, expressed her gratitude for the warm reception, noted that Mexican universities want to expand the framework of international cooperation and gain international recognition, not only the ones that operate in the capital of Mexico City, but also throughout the country.
“I would like our universities to cooperate with you. I hope we will be able to put together the basis of this cooperation and take the first steps,” - the ambassador said.
Hasmik Baghdasaryan and Alexander Markarov also expressed their views on starting and developing effective bilateral cooperation, establishing contacts in the spheres of mutual interest.
In the end of the meeting YSU Rector and Norma Bertha Pensado Moreno presented each other books.
