THE ALLEY OF GRATITUDE WILL BE LAID
THE ALLEY OF GRATITUDE WILL BE LAID
On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide the Alley of Gratitude will be laid at the entrance of YSU library, where the busts of the figures, who have developed Armenia orientated activities, will be set.

This alley is dedicated to those courageous personalities, who have criticized the greatest tragedy of the 20th century, expressed their protest and saved many of our compatriots.

Symbolic 12 figures have been selected - Fridtjof Nansen, Franz Werfel, Johannes Lepsius, Karen Yeppe, Henry Morgenthau, James Bryce, Armin Wegner, Anatole France, Jacob Kyuntsler, Raphael Lemkin, Pierre Kiar and Alma Johansson.

To build the Alley of Gratitude a fundraising is announced among the representatives of the administrative staff, academic staff, students and other employees of YSU.

Everyone who wants to participate in this unprecedented event can show his financial support.

To organize the process commissions have been formed composed of the representatives of heads of departments, professorial staff and students. The donations with specified intervals will be given to the Bookkeeping Office of YSU.

Fundraising is exclusively voluntary and anonymous, but those who wish to announce their name and the amount of money donated, will have that opportunity.

This initiative is a unique approach by the universitarians towards the greatest crime against mankind in the 20th century.
