THE UN ARMENIAN MODEL
Today in YSU Hall after Palyans students of the Faculty of Sociology were playing "The Un model".

The participants of the game, organized by the SSS of the above mentioned faculty, were playing the roles of the UN councils on economic and social issues. There were various reports, discussions, observations, suggestions and in the end the signing of a final official document, directed to the issues solution.

The preliminary activities were launched about a month ago. The topic was decided that time-Not formal education.

Modern nor formal education has got some lacks, and very often to become a qualified specialist we have got to apply for knowledge via not formal educational projects. It is some kind of an opportunity to cover the lacks, existing in the area of formal education. The participants of this game have also tried to observe the issues from this aspect,-said the SSS Chairman of this faculty Hakob Matevosyan.

This game was not chosen occasionally. The UN model format provides with a possibility to learn about the foreign experience, their position regarding the issue, as well as to get some skills how to make speech, impression, to remain still and to control emotions, to control the audience present in the hall, etc.

Hakob Matevosyan said this game was played by them for the first time, and the requirements together with rules were not too strict. Only this time, as a concession, the working language was the Armenian.

Representatives of 15 countries were discussing the issue of not formal education. They must present the standpoints and interests of their countries not only via reports: to establish good process of diplomatic relations the participant must be in his role permanently. One must even smile in a correct way.

The amended version of the game in expected in coming Academic year. They will be in contact with the UN Armenian office and the working languages will be the UN working languages. The participants will play roles of the UN Security Council, and the national security issues will be in focus.
