The two-part performance, which was dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, was organized by the students of the Faculty of Journalism. It was attended by the Dean Naghash Martirosyan, lecturers and students.
The authors of the performance were 1st year student Samvel Melkonyan and 3rd year student Janna Poghosyan. The artistic director was the Head of Chair of History and Theory of Press David Petrosyan.
“I had planned long ago to organize an event dedicated to the Genocide. Then I learnt that David Petrosyan had a similar idea. I already had a script, and then we worked on it with Samvel,” - said Janna Poghosyan.
The characters of newspaper editors, Satan, Turks, Armenian women were on the stage ... The event began and ended with patriotic songs.
“This is an example of a very interesting cooperation between students. I am proud that such talented generations study at the Faculty of Journalism, and I hope that the next event will be on happier topics,” - said David Petrosyan.
As for the choice of the title, Janna Poghosyan said they were inspired by the words of the Armenian writer Hovhannes Shiraz who had compared the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide with Jesus.
