"THE LANGUAGE AND STYLE OF VAHAN TERYAN'S POETRY". MARY HOVHANNISYAN'S MONOGRAPH HAS BEEN PUBLISHED
Within the framework of the Third Book Festival of Yerevan was held the meeting-discussion dedicated to YSU lecturer Mary Hovhannisyan's monograph "The Language and Style of Vahan Teryan's Poetry".

The monograph published by YSU Publishing House is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of YSU.

Dean of YSU Faculty of History Edik Minasyan, Head of Public Relations Service, Monograph Editor Gevorg Emin-Teryan and Publishing Director Karen Grigoryan  were meeting-discussion speakers, who  presented the patriotic figure of Teryan and his rule in development of Armenian language.

"This monograph is important to me, as I wanted the reader to see how important was  Vahan Teryan’s role in the development of the Armenian language." said Mary Hovhannisyan.

In separate chapters of the monograph written over the years, the author referred to various sections of the language in order to reveal Teryan's linguistic features.

“But this work is not just a linguistic work. It is a book reflecting Teryan's image, where the reader must find not only interesting linguistic and grammatical facts but also music, history, emotion, life and thinking. ",-said Mary Hovhannisyan.

Mr. Emin-Teryan said, that literary Armenian had been perfected thanks to Teryan. “Before Teryan's literary career, there was a situation when the two greatest figures of Armenian literature, Hovhannes Tumanyan and Avetik Isahakyan, treated the literary language with disdain, believing that it had no soul and preferred dialects. Vahan Teryan's greatest achievement was that when he was 23, he published his first book at the time, convincing and proving to the greats of literature that literary language can have the depth of expression. "

The author of the monograph presented remarkable facts, referring to the phonetic style of the Teryan word, its innovations, and its "constitutional" character as the Armenian language.

According to the author of the monograph, the work is addressed to linguists, literary critics, specialists in other areas of Teryan art, as well as people who love Teryan.
