Dean of the Faculty Ruben Melkonyan and Head of the Chair of Arabic Studies Hayk Kocharyan met the future students.
Ruben Melkonyan presented the structure and activities of the faculty: "Oriental studies is a young science. It was formed in the 18th century. The name suggests that this is a science about East. This profession is considered as "imperial" or "elite" because it was formed by the mediation, order and desire of the Emperors of various superpowers. In order to solve a variety of problems with the East, they needed highly qualified specialists."
In a conversation with us, the 12th grade pupil of the high school 195, Ishkhan Tumasyan, has already decided that after graduating from school, he will enter the Chair of Turkic Studies at YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies: "My interest is to study and explore the East. The choice of the university was undisputable."
