Today, the Awarding Commission members met with the students and pupils, who may become the nominees.
They represented the participating educational institutions - Yerevan State University, State Engineering University of Armenia, American University of Armenia, Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, the European Regional Academy, Shahinyan Physics-Mathematics School, SEUA High School in Yerevan, “Quantum” college, “Photon” College and others.
10 years old competition aims to encourage and discover new talents in the field of information technology. The individuals who have high academic performance and actively participate in the natural sciences and IT sector Olympiads, have scientific works, as well as are involved in community projects can become the nominees.
“We can say that the results were more than positive, so far we have had over 300 winners. We will keep our eye on the winners and I am proud to say that many of them will join then our country’s economic and political elite ranks,” - believes “Synopsis” company president Hovik Musayelyan.
This year the awards will be available in 7 categories - The Main Prize, “Best PhD Student”, “Best Master Student”, “Best Bachelor”, “The Best Student of the Diaspora”, “Best Female Student” and “Best Pupil”. The competition will be held in two phases. 1st round is on May 3-25 and in the 2nd round the Commission conducts interviews with the selected participants and then the winners are announced.
Prizes will be handed at the Residence of the RA President in October. Winners will receive cash awards of up to 1.200 U.S. dollars.
“In previous years the work done has contributed to the development of not only the staff in the IT sector, but also in terms of technology. In previous years we have received the greatest satisfaction with the participants of this contest. We encourage our students to success. I think the competition has reached its goal,” - said YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, who is also a member of the awarding commission.
