A NEW PROCEDURE OF SUBSIDIES WILL BE INTRODUCED AT YSU
10 issues were on the agenda of the session of YSU Academic Council.

Members of the council discussed and approved the procedure of calculation and payment of premiums paid to the employees for certain types of work. Subsidy is paid for research, teaching, performing certain types of organizational work. Such activities are considered also the publication of papers in local and international journals with citation index, as well as published articles, books, monographs, textbooks, organization and participation in Olympiads, conferences, etc.


From now on monetary support for the conferences will be provided according to the new order. According to the rules, the amount of financing is determined by the number of local and foreign participants. Conferences organized by YSU will receive 350,000- 1 million AMD financing.


The meeting also approved the structure and content of the project on qualification rising for lecturers, applying credit system (2016-2021), as well as regulations for its organization.


Due to the change of the organizational form, the regulations and procedures gradually adjusted to it. Accordingly, these procedures of the elections of the dean, head of chair have seen changes, as well as changes and additions have been made to the procedure of the competitive selection and filling of positions.




“We have specified the documents, ballot papers compiling forms. The election of the dean is approved by YSU Academic Council, and the same person can hold the office for 2 consecutive terms. As for the head of the chair, the candidate must have at least 7 years of experience in academic sphere in order to be able to participate in the elections,” – said the head of the legal department Armen Tadevosyan.


Via open voting, the charter of the Scientific Council of the Centre for Sustainable Development was approved, after which again via voting three lecturers received the title of professor, 12 - associate professor.


The last point on the agenda was to be a scientific report. Deputy Director of YSU Institute for Armenian Studies Mher Hovhannisyan made a presentation on “Research Activities of the Institute for Armenian Studies.” He presented the departments, laboratories, directions of the activities, scientific publications, etc., and added that the IAS is planning to expand the directions of the researches.

“The establishment of the Institute for Armenian Studies brought to qualitative changes, especially in the field of virtual and political Armenian Studies. We have good achievements. The majority of around 8 dozen publications is in Russian, English, French and German. There is also a large number of maps. We have registered progress in the field of master’s degree programs, as well as youth training, including the areas of academic and scientific researches,” - said YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, Director of the IAS.
