AGENDA OF CIVIL SOCIETY PRIOR TO SNAP PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS: PUBLIC DISCUSSION AT YSU
The public discussion entitled “Agenda of civil society prior to the snap parliamentary elections” organized by “Partnership for open society” initiative was held in Charents auditorium of YSU.

Members of various initiatives, public societies, lecturers, students were present at the meeting. The representatives of Open Society Foundations-Armenia Larisa Minasyan greeted those present and mentioned that such discussion are held and must be held in universities worldwide with the direct participation of students. “The most progressive thoughts are to be gathered in universities”.

The chairman of Vanadzor office of Helsinki Civil Assembly Arthur Sakunts made a report on “Necessity of constitutional changes for the protection of the principle of authorities decoupling and human rights defense” theme and outlined that educational institutions are to serve a model of being open for various ideas and opinions as mental development is impossible without it.

Advocate Vahe Grigoryan made a report on transitional justice the aim of which is to move from semi-authoritarian and more rigid regimes to democracy.
The chairman of the Board of “Asparez” Club of Journalists Levon Barseghyan made a report on “Liberation from state capture” theme. According to him, the new Parliament is obliged to hold open public discussions as everything that had taken place should be discussed.
