The solemn opening ceremony of the Third Annual Scientific Session of YSU SSS was held at YSU today. 2016 session is devoted to the 25th anniversary of the RA independence.
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, vice-rectors, deans of faculties, professors, representatives of student organizations, students from different universities were present at the opening ceremony of the conference.
Rector Aram Simonyan welcomed the participants and briefly presented the history and activities of YSU SSS: “The difficulty and success are still the same, and I think it is natural. However, difficulties have not affected the activities of the SSS.”
Rector highlighted the cooperation of YSU SSS with the student organizations of other HEI. Mr. Simonyan added with pride and satisfaction that in recent years the SSS has really awakened the love among our studentship towards science and research.
Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan noted in his speech that the importance of students’ scientific research has been highlighted in YSU Strategic Development Plan 2016-2020. Mr. Markosyan is sure that many new achievements of our young researchers are still ahead.
YSU SSS Chairman Mher Hakobyan noted that this year about 450 applications for participation from 20 universities of the RA, NKR and Russian Federation were received, of which 350 have received approval: “The preparatory work was launched a year ago, involving about 100 volunteers. Selection of the participants and organization of the conference was largely supported by YSU administration, lecturers, for which we express our deepest gratitude. “
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan handed YSU Gold Commemorative Medal former SSS Chairman, PhD student at the Faculty of History Mikayel Malkhasyan for the significant contribution to the development of activities of this organization. Mher Hakobyan in his turn handed M. Malkhasyan YSU SSS Diploma.
The peer-reviewed reports will be published in the Collection of YSU SSS, which is recognized by the RA Higher Attestation Commission.
The closing ceremony of the session will be held on April 29 at 14:30 at YSU.
