Specially equipped centre will operate at YSU Information Technology Education and Research Centre and will be used for the needs of the centre. The opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony was vested to the RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan and President of “Samsung” headquarters at CIS Sangchul Lee.
The specialized electronic auditorium is equipped with electronic devices – electric board, laptops, tablets (about 45 individual mobile devices).
The auditorium is intended to be used for the master’s programs, organized by the IT Centre, practical and laboratory work, as well as for the development and introduction of courses “Computer skills” and “Android programming introduction” for non-specialized faculties. The programs will also be open to pupils from high schools.
“The IT industry today provides with serious opportunities to create a modern educational environment. It is natural that such an auditorium had to operate in the HEI system, main university of the country, to provide with effective education process. We also have plans for the future. Our goal is to have here research centre that can operate with the support of Samsung,” - said the RA Minister of Education and Science.
Supervisor of the IT Centre Samvel Shukuryan presented our guests the programs and activities carried out by the Centre, joint master program with the University of Rostock (Germany).
Then the guests moved to YSU Rector’s office, where a memorandum of understanding was signed between “Samsung Electronics Rus Company” LLC and YSU. It envisages cooperation in the fields of education, science and innovation, as well as additional education programs in the fields of basics of IT and programming.
“This year, YSU celebrates its 95th anniversary. Its alumni are widely recognized in the world and work in all sectors, both domestic and international leading organizations. The start of this program, aimed at the strengthening the basics of the IT and programming, “Samsung” Information Technologies and Programming School, which is based on the concept “Samsung. Smart School”, is another big step towards this goal,” - said President of “Samsung” headquarters at CIS Sangchul Lee.
YSU Vice-rector Ruben Markosyan added that tablets and laptops are connected to one local network, and the programming support allows tracking students’ activity, block or allow access to the used programs, displaying it on the tablet or laptop of each student.
