The students of YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center won first place and won the Grand Prix in various categories of the "Golden Voices" international song contest. More than 20 countries participated in the competition, and it took place in Armenia for the third time.

The Director of the center K. Davtyan was a member of the competition jury. In the conversation with us, the latter mentioned that there were representatives from all countries on the jury, and each of them did not have the right to vote for the participant of his/her country.

Referring to the impressions of the jury from university students' speeches, K. Davtyan mentioned, “Everyone was extremely impressed with Gayane’s and Michael's performances. The members of the jury were particularly impressed by Michael's wonderful voice and artistry, and Gayane sang the complex song she wrote so beautifully that everyone thought she graduated from the classical vocal department of the Conservatory.

The winners of the international competition, Gayane, and Mikael, emphasized that Karine Davtyan, director of YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center, played a major role in the decision to participate in the competition.

Gayane Tadevosyan, emphasizing the role of YSU Charles Aznavour Culture Center in achieving her victory, noted. "My entire creative life has been spent in the center of culture, and it can be said that all of us have become what we are today thanks to YSU. Although now I work in my profession and in a completely different field, I continue to participate in cultural events, because living without singing is meaningless to me."

During the competition, Gayane presented the song “Yes Kgam” ("I will come"), which was the winner of the "Best original song" category.

Mikayel Nshanyan, who won in the "Best Rock Performance" category, reminded that he took first place in the "Baltic Voice" contest, and then added that he presented the song chosen by him and K. Davtyan. Mikael also emphasized the fact that when choosing a song, you should take into account the compatibility of voice and style.

It should be noted that the students of the YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center have been participating in national, international, inter-university, and many other competitions for many years and everywhere they uphold the name and honor of Yerevan State University.
