In accordance with the article 24 of the RA Law on “State Non-Profit Organizations”, the SNPO can be reorganized into foundation by the decision of the founder. Guided by this provision, during the RA Government session, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Manuk Mkrtchyan presented the issue, noting that this change will contribute to the development of the international cooperation of the university, improvement of the quality of education and management.
The issue of the legal reorganization of YSU has been repeatedly raised during the sessions of YSU Academic Council and Rectorate. It has been noted that the change in status will enable to develop more flexible entrepreneurship activities, to maintain the procurement process more efficiently, diversify financial flows, as well as solve a number of other issues.
As a result of this reorganization some changes will be made in the management system of YSU, but the basic principles and approaches will remain unchanged. YSU will continue to operate as an autonomous institution. From now on, the supreme governing body of YSU will be the Board of Trustees, at the same time, the management will be based on the combination of principles of personal and collegial management.
